It has been reported that Europe and China will fund more research related to nanotechnology toxicology and investigate potential alternatives for animal testing as the European Commission's Joint Research Centre and the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine now have a memorandum of understanding to invest in consumer safety research.
China lead the way in the field of standardization as it published7 national nanotechnology standards in December 2004, now China is becoming a global player in the nanotechnology community. This is a good move for Europe.
Moving to tech transfer and innovation – we hope many more collaborations are to come.
